Kristen: Bouncing Back

Listening to Kristen’s story was bittersweet for me. Just wait for her answer when I ask her what she likes about her post-baby body…. yes, I have felt the same way. And no, it’s not ok. We receive so many messages¬†about “bouncing back” after pregnancy, when our bodies will quite possibly never be the same again.

To me, it’s been helpful to think of the post-baby body as a clean slate. Starting from scratch. Beginning again, to make it what you want it to be. Try not to compare yourself to your pre-baby self; your body now tells a story much bigger and grander than anything you could have ever comprehended before. We must re-learn our bodies and commit to giving ourselves our best bodies now. How, you ask? Stay tuned for more ideas…
