The first weeks after having a baby can feel like a lifetime.

The moment you hear your baby cry for the first time, your world changes. You are now a mother, whether or not you feel ready. Your life slows down as you navigate your new identity and familiarize yourself with a new little person. Your body is tender, healing. There are moments of bliss, when you think heaven must be your child sleeping peacefully on your chest. There are moments of triumph, when you discover your own strength, and that the wisdom of all of humanity lies within your soul. But there are also moments of fear, frustration, helplessness, isolation. Sometimes you wonder if you will make it through. Suddenly the future is immediate: you see your worries, hopes, dreams and fears reflected back to you in the eyes of your child. There is little sleep. There are lots of tears. There is abundant love.

The postpartum period is a uniquely challenging and blessed time. It’s a time when a woman learns to care for her child while her body, mind and soul need nurturing of their own. Thriving in the year after birth requires a village of support: shoulders to cry on, hearts to lift you up, experts to offer solutions, and other mamas to say “You got this.”

This June, The Mama Sagas is bringing the village to mamas everywhere as we publish the first comprehensive digital resource dedicated to the postpartum period. The New Mom Survival Guide and Directory will offer support and solutions from some of North America’s leading postpartum experts, including:

• Postpartum Doulas
• Lactation Consultants
• Formula Experts
• OBGYNs
• Pediatricians
• Sleep Experts
• Mental Health Experts
• Postpartum Exercise Specialists
• Dieticians
• Nannies
• Pelvic Floor Physical Therapists

To help mamas find local support in their own neighborhoods, we are seeking postpartum services providers who wish to be listed in our digital directory.

To be included, visit this link to submit your information: https://goo.gl/forms/kUlLj3OUszk8BBsn1

Listings are $29 for one year and may include your company logo, a description of your business, active links back to your page and social profiles, promotional images and directions to consult virtually over skype or phone. Don’t delay – help us create the resource new moms need. Together, we can lift each other up. Together, we know what it takes #toraiseamother.

My Son the Sailor

On December 9, 2017 my middle son left for the Navy boot camp. He was 21 years old. He had no military parents, brothers, or hugely patriotic upbringing. I don’t even like the president. But my son Gabriel had talked about enlisting, off and on, for years, and the...
