Motherhood is a love that transforms.
Our Mission
The Mama Sagas is on a mission to change the narrative of motherhood from one of sacrifice to one of opportunity.
When you enter motherhood, you enter a band of heroes. Most of us don’t feel like Supermom – this gig tests the depth of our strength and resilience daily.
But if we meet the challenge, we realize motherhood is an opportunity: the chance to illuminate our true path, to realize our potential, to advocate for what we need, and to define our identity on our own terms.
Through first-person stories of triumph and transformation, and with tips for living a rich and fulfilling life with kids, The Mama Sagas celebrates what’s possible when we embrace every experience on our motherhood journey — good, bad, and everything in between.

It’s the Journey That Makes Her Strong
I heard the clock tick as I wrangled my little boys out of their booster seats at the dining table. Unsuccessfully dodging their sticky fingers, a glob of yogurt landed on my shoulder. I made the quick decision not to change my blouse while I wiped at the stubborn...
When Motherhood Feels Too Fast
This morning was just like any other morning: my youngest woke up entirely too early, my oldest slept longer than she should. I said, “Sit down and eat your breakfast!” a total of 642 times in 30 minutes. We negotiated what they’d wear, assessing which dresses were...
Treat Yourself Before the Holidays
It's the middle of November and before Thanksgiving, which means it's TOTALLY an ok time to spend money on yourself before going into holiday shopping mode. Today I visited the Everyday Show to share some of my favorite ways mamas can spoil themselves this holidays...
Launch Forward: A Manifesto for Modern Motherhood
Times are changing. It’s time for the script about motherhood to change too. Motherhood blindsided me. I know I’m not the only one – I’ve heard lots of women say the same. After months of preparing and getting the gear and taking the classes and reading the books you...
My Favorite Products to Reduce Household Plastic
Did you know that it takes between 500 and 1,000 years for a single piece of plastic to decompose? That means that every piece of plastic that was ever made is STILL in existence somewhere on our planet today. And that fact is incredibly scary when you think about how...
Baby & Kid Products You Need To Know About
I recently stopped by the Everyday show to demo some of my favorite products for #momlife. My daughters even got to make a cameo! Between two feisty girls, 6 products, a pair of lost car keys, one near-miss potty accident, and forgetting to bring everything,...
Motherhood on the Eve of Kindergarten
It starts with walking across the street. “Can I go play at Lyla’s house?” she asked. Just two weeks ago, my 5-year-old daughter walked across the street, hand in hand with her neighborhood friend – an 8-year-old – after assuring me she was ready. “I know what...
Working Moms We Love: An Interview with T Lopez
This summer, The Mama Sagas had the pleasure of interviewing singer/songwriter T Lopez, one of the co-founders of the MOM LIFE YO radio show, and host of the PBS show Musicology. T is refreshingly honest, completely down-to-earth, and unfailingly positive - the...
The Fourth Trimester
I have a bone to pick. Who is the clueless individual who coined the phrase “get your body back after baby?” Surely it was a man. Probably a man working in marketing. Maybe he didn’t have a wife or girlfriend, and maybe he never witnessed a woman push a small human...
