Motherhood is a love that transforms.
Our Mission
The Mama Sagas is on a mission to change the narrative of motherhood from one of sacrifice to one of opportunity.
When you enter motherhood, you enter a band of heroes. Most of us don’t feel like Supermom – this gig tests the depth of our strength and resilience daily.
But if we meet the challenge, we realize motherhood is an opportunity: the chance to illuminate our true path, to realize our potential, to advocate for what we need, and to define our identity on our own terms.
Through first-person stories of triumph and transformation, and with tips for living a rich and fulfilling life with kids, The Mama Sagas celebrates what’s possible when we embrace every experience on our motherhood journey — good, bad, and everything in between.

What do you wish you had known before becoming a mom?
This. This clip right here sums up what so many of us feel in the early days of motherhood. When we we began filming The Mama Sagas videos, Cristina was one of the first women I interviewed. Speaking with her was one of the most profound moments I've had on this...
How My 11-Year-Old Taught Me to Unlock Grief
“This will define you.” I resented these words from a friend when my youngest son, Rakan, was diagnosed with a very rare pediatric cancer at age five. I didn’t want to hear them. I wanted to hear how I should be positive and how he’d be fine. I didn’t want my story,...
Your Lifeline Is On It’s Way!
In just over a week, The Mama Sagas will launch it's first ebook, The Guide to Survive Motherhood: Newborn Edition! The Mama Sagas was born out of my need to find the answers and advice I sought as a new mom, but couldn’t easily find. I found myself thinking,...
Mothering the Space Between
I became a mother when I was eighteen years old - just a baby myself. The summer I graduated high school, I began dating my future husband and father of my two children. I soon left my hometown of Ithaca, New York to study photography at The Art Institute of...
Juggling: Nabanita’s Story
My motto as a working mother is to learn and perfect the art of juggling multiple balls at the same time without dropping a single one. Being a mother makes you more responsible in your professional and personal life and you have to master the art of multi-tasking to...
Because She’s My Mom: Sarah’s Story
While doing Mother's Day writing with my first graders, the typical answers came out: What does your mom like to do? "Go grocery shopping." "Take care of me and my sister." What is mom good at? "Folding clothes." "Cleaning." "Doing mom stuff." How does my mom relax?...
My Postpartum Anxiety and Pelvic Distress Story
At 35 weeks pregnant, my husband and I sat in a stuffy basement room with nine other pregnant couples listening to the prenatal instructor discuss birth interventions. Everybody cringed when she mentioned episiotomies, forceps, and fourth degree tears but, in a room...
Banking on Balance
Balance, intuition, persistence, patience, thoughtfulness, presence. These are my "working mama mantras" as I like to call them. I’m Abby, I am a mama to two sweet tiny humans, I am an IBCLC, and I work at Mothers' Milk Bank in Arvada, CO. Choosing a career in the...
The Mother of Reinvention
There is no one who can make you feel like they've swiped your intelligence faster than a 2-year-old. My mom was a stay-at-home mom until I was in 2nd grade. She had her college diploma framed in our kitchen. I totally get it now. Once upon a time, I was a teacher....
